About Us

Chefs Craig Anthony & Samantha La Croix are excited to share their take on elevated comfort food! They will offer seasonal menus of updated and elevated home-style comfort food; delicious house baked pastries, savory dishes with local seasonal ingredients, as well as some classics customers know and love.

All served up in a casual atmosphere, with warm and attentive service, and elegant historic surroundings. Sophisticated enough for a date night, perfect for a family night out with the kids too!

Manager Adam True looks forward to making you feel at home, and start off your evening with something from our curated local beer, wine, cocktail and mocktail list. We will seat you in one of our several dining areas in our historic Checkered House. Come take in the views of the Green Mountains from one of our lovely dining rooms, get comfortable and enjoy a meal with us!

We plan to add breakfast and lunch service in the new year, as well as takeaway homecooked family meals, savory and sweet pastries and more available for pickup in the coming months. Our menu is available for takeout – pick-up only. Come enjoy The Kitchen Table, serving Vermont Comfort Food for you and your family.

Craig Anthony, Executive Chef/Event Coordinator

Craig grew up in Tamworth, New Hampshire. His love for cooking was found as a child hunting and fishing. He participated as a member of the Junior American Culinary Federation in high school, taught by Chef Gary Sheldon.

In 2007, Craig relocated to Burlington, Vermont. There, he began a thirteen-year tenure at Mirabelles Bakery. He eventually transitioned to Waterworks Food and Drink, where he most recently left as the Assistant Director of Operations.

Craig is excited to create a space for family and friends to gather and enjoy delicious home-cooked comfort.

Adam True, General Manager

At age 16, he was lucky to land his first real kitchen job working at L’Cheval d’or in Jeffersonville. He would later go on to work at places like Shelburne Farms and Trattoria Delia. Adam exited the restaurant business for two decades to pursue a career in the financial sector at a large corporation. He’s excited to be part of The Kitchen Table team and share his passion for authentic and delicious food, excellent service, and creating community.

Adam grew up in rural northern Vermont and first became intrigued with food and cooking watching his mother (an exceptional home cook and avid gardener) work in the kitchen and in her gardens.

Samantha La Croix, Pastry Chef

Sam was born and raised in Vermont. Her passion for baking was sparked at an early age by her late grandmother. She was classically trained at The New England Culinary Institute, where she graduated in 2015 with a degree in Pastry & Baking Arts.

From culinary school, she went on to be the Pastry Sous Chef at Jupiter Island Club in Southern Florida. Eventually moving back home, she worked at a handful of local restaurants including: Hen of the Wood, The Inn at Shelburne Farms, and Mirabelles Bakery. She most recently has been the Pastry Chef of Burlington Beer Company for two years, where she received 7 Daysies nominations for “Best Restaurant for Dessert” both years.

Sam loves feeding people food that brings them to a warm, familiar place. She looks forward to bringing her new take on nostalgic classics to The Kitchen Table.
